Bourbon Caramelized Onions

These Bourbon Caramelized Onions will quickly become your go-to for sandwiches, steaks… anything really. A little patience is needed, but the result is so worth it.

  • 3 yellow onions thinly sliced

  • 3 T butter

  • 1/4 t sugar

  • 1 t bourbon

  • 1 T chicken stock

Melt butter in sauté pan at medium-low heat.  Add onions, sugar, season with salt and pepper.  Continue cooking onions until golden brown.  Add bourbon and allow alcohol to cook off.  Add chicken stock.  Cook onions until deep brown, approx. 30 minutes.  Season, if needed.
