Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita

Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita

A simple margartia: tequila, lime, jalapeño, cucumber, with a black lava salt rim.  Muddled spicy jalapeños are balanced by the addition of cool cucumber.

  • 1 1/2 oz. blanco tequila
  • 1 half of lime, cut into 2 wedges
  • 1 small cucumber roughly chopped
  • 1 small jalapeño thinly sliced
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • black lava or kosher salt for glass

Prepare glass: rub cut lime on edge of rocks glass, roll glass in black lava or kosher salt.

Add lime, a 2-3 pieces of cucumber, and jalapeño slices (1-2 slices for medium heat, change amount to taste) to boston tin.  Muddle ingredients until limes are juiced and jalapeño is crushed.  Add tequila and simple syrup.  Add ice to tin.  Lock tins and shake cocktail for about 20 seconds.  Fill prepared rocks glass with ice.  Using hawthorne strainer, strain cocktail into salted glass.  Garnish with a few slices of jalapeño.
