Cooling fernet branca paired with bourbon and blueberries make this fresh cocktail ideal in the dog days of summer.
- 1 1/2 oz bourbon
- 1/2 oz fernet branca
- 2 bar spoons of blueberry jam
- soda water
- mint and fresh blueberries for garnish
Combine bourbon, fernet, and blueberry jam to shaker tin. Fill cocktail shaker with ice; shake thouroughly, approx. 30 sec. Fill 8oz rocks glass or jam jar with ice. Using hawthorne strainer, strain cocktail over ice (double strain using a mesh cocktail strainer if pieces of blueberry are unwanted). Top with soda water. Garnish with fresh blueberry skewer and mint sprig.
